Moody Family Dentistry

Excellent gingival health gives you strong bone to hold your teeth in place and creates an environment which helps to prevent decay. Healthy gums also make any work that Dr. Moody needs to perform more predictable. Periodontal (Gum) diseases are infections of the gums, which gradually destroy the support of your natural teeth. Typically, periodontal diseases are a result of dental plague. Bacteria found in dental plaque can produce toxins (poisons) which irritate the gums. They may cause the gum tissue to turn red, swell and bleed easily. This condition is known as gingivitis. If this irritation is prolonged, the gums separate from the teeth and cause spaces (often called pockets).

Moody Family Dentistry takes pride in the fact our hygiene department performs yearly periodontal disease assessments so we can catch disease early providing you with the best long term outcome. With accurate measurements and appropriate x-rays, Dr. Moody and our hygienists will properly diagnose your current condition and then outline a plan of treatment appropriate for you.
